Materials Mixing and Kneading

Others in the Machinery Division

This type of machine uses counter current to mix pulverulent, granulated, doughy or semiliquid product in a rapid and efficient way.

The opposed spirals system imparts a constant motion in three dimensions and thus homogenizes perfectly the mixture in a very short time. Depending on what substances are to be mixed the cycle will last from five to fifteen minutes.

Due to their versatility, quality, ease of installation and rapid disassembly for cleaning our ME type opposed spirals mixers are now used at full output in all those plants, whatever the industry, in which mix quality is important.

All our mixers are specially designed for industrial work and are of robust construction.

The driving transmission is by pulleys, belts and oil lubricated reducing gears, being the latter directly mounted on the end of the motor shaft.

GRUBER HERMANOS high turbulence mixers are indicated to quickly mix all kind of dry powders, granulated materials and low density dough. In these processes it is desired to achieve a perfect mix in the shortest possible time without producing particle splitting.

In these machines the mixing is achieved by means of a high speed revolving shaft, which is furnished with radial arms at whose ends plough blade shaped heads are fitted.

The plough blades induce a turbulent movement of very high speed surrounding the blades, thus producing a particle dispersion that generates the mixing.

The arrangement of the blades inside the machine practically eliminates the existence of non-affected zones with not mixed material. To account for products which tend to produce lumps or aggregates, the mixer is fitted with special dispersal groups. These groups are composed by several rotary knives whose rotation axis is not associated with the axis of the main shaft. They cut the flow of material, producing an even more intimate mixing.

GRUBER HERMANOS biconical mixers are suitable for homogenizing solid and granular dry products when an intimate mixing, as well as a great easiness in the cleaning, is required.

The constructive mode, dimensions and shape of the main body of this blender, make each unloading exhaustive, thus giving total guarantee that not unwanted deposits of material remain in the interior of the machine.

The blender must be stopped for loading or unloading. The product is introduced by one of the apertures and the barrel is set to turn. By effect of gravity and centrifugal forces the mixing progresses accordingly to the duration and speed of rotation. Different grades of homogeneity in the final product can be reached changing the rotation speed of the blender. Once the mixing has been achieved, the vessel is stopped in vertical position and the unloading is done by way of the opposite opening.

This type of mixers is conceived for non-continuous processes, automatically or manually controlled. All the mechanical elements are calculated to achieve a steady running and a long, maintenance free, working life.

GRUBER HERMANOS blade mixers are indicated in those continuous mixing processes for solid, pasty, powdery or granulated products where the client needs a not very homogeneous blend or just soak the product.

The mixer also has two parallel shafts in counter-rotation, equipped with blades set at a variable angle depending on the speed at which the mixture is performed and the degree of homogenization sought. The trough-shaped mixer body construction avoids the existence of dead zones, ensuring that all the content blends.

The body and the covers of these mixers have been designed to facilitate the access to the machine in order to reduce the time spent on cleaning operations.

If we add the high torsional rigidity of the shafts and the position of the bearings, away from the machine body, the result is a machine which will have none or very few failures in a long operating life.

These machines stand out for their simple and functional construction, designed to provide a stable operation, without adjustments and almost maintenance free. So these mixers are successful replacement to complex systems existing on the market which require frequent adjustments and high maintenance expenses.

Kneaders or sigma blade mixers are preferably used to mix moist or doughty products thoroughly.

GRUBER HERMANOS kneaders have the following main features:

– DOUBLE HELICAL (sigma blade) arms for kneading.

– TROUGH SHAPED BODY, made of steel plate.

– TIPPING, manual or automatic, with oleo-hydraulic or electric drive.

– RUGGED CONSTRUCTION, designed for continuous industrial use.

– JACKET, for heating or cooling, if required by the handled products.

– SPECIAL TYPES OF CONSTRUCTIVE MATERIALS, in order to meet client needs.

GRUBER HERMANOS makes its standard kneaders of the following capacities:

80 – 100 – 170 – 280 – 500 – 625 and 850 liters.
