Facilities

Our two divisions, ventilation and machinery, are provided with modern independent laboratories, equipped with up-to-date instruments, which allow prototype testing as well as the study of the solutions proposed to each client.

The continuous research that allows us to be at the forefront of product development comes accompanied by a policy based on high productivity aimed to get a fabrication capacity which turns into economy for the client.

VENTILATION LABORATORY

In this laboratory we test all our designs, getting a range of fans whose static efficiencies are up to the 90 %. Following the standard ISO 5801, we can check the performance curves of every fan within our range.

MILLING LABORATORY

In the field of mills, it is essential to check that the type of machine offered is capable of grinding materials to the productive capacity and grain size required by the client. For that purpose, in this laboratory we have the necessary equipment to check in the practice the characteristics we want to grant.

The experience obtained along our more than 100 years of history, has provided us with a technological knowledge that we have applied in the computer programs developed by our engineers, which allow us to design the most strong and reliable fans and give fast reply to the most elaborate enquiries.

TOOLS USED :
  • 2D and 3D CAD software.

  • Programs for fan curves plotting and noise prediction.

  • Finite element programs for mechanical calculations.

  • Fluid dynamics calculations programs (CFD).

  • Lateral analysis of rotors.

  • Torsional analysis of kinematic chains.

  • Wind and seismic calculations and over-pressure studies.

Our factory, with more than 8.000 m2, is equipped with the latest machines and special tools to make all kind of fans, mills, mixers and rest of equipment included in our manufacturing programme.

MANUFACTURING CAPACITY AND TESTS:

  • Steelwork and welding elements.

  • 16 TN cranes to allow the movement of large machines.

  • TITAN vertical lathe for impeller machining.

  • Horizontal lathes for shaft fabrication.

  • Shaper machine for the forming of fan inlet cones.

  • SCHENK machines for the dynamic balancing of rotors up to 4500 mm diameter.

  • Shot blasting and painting cabins.

  • Bench to test the performance of fans rated up to 800 kW.

Our quality control department is provided with the most modern instruments that guarantee that every machine manufactured by Gruber complies with all the requirements to ensure a perfect construction and assembly.

  • All the models are surveyed during the manufacturing process and every part is subject to a rigorous control under a strict system of tolerances.

  • Control of steel plates and shafts by means of ultrasound and magnetoscope.

  • Welding control by means of penetrant liquids, X-rays, magnetic particles and/or ultrasound inspection.

  • Performance tests to check the flow and pressure characteristics of the fans.

  • Mechanical running test for several hours prior to the delivery.

  • Shaft alignment by means of laser techniques.

  • Dynamic balancing according VDI-2060 standard.

  • Sound levels measurements in dB (A).
